How to be enthusiastic in a job you hate

12th March 2019 Uncategorised 0

Do you think “I hate my job but I need to do it for the money”?  Enthusiasm is something our employers want us to bring to the table, especially if you’re in sales or marketing.  But how can you be enthusiastic when every morning you feel sad about going to work?

Well this blog will tell you how to be enthusiastic in a job you hate.  I’ve created this video to support what I have to say on the matter but this blog is an extension of that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuM3ttBGrqA

Firstly, it’s important that you don’t have an issue with the morals of the company you’re working for.  If your head and your heart are in too much conflict it’s not going to work for you.  That’s just how it is. Your head and heart are physically very close to each other.  So if something feel unethical and just doesn’t sit right with you then don’t work for that company as you’ll cause yourself more hassle than it’s worth.

What will give you most confidence and help you feel enthusiastic?  find reviews online from real customers to see what people think of your company and your products.  If you do this, you learn what it is in real life that people want and find beneficial about the company and it’s products or services.  Getting a feel for what real customers think is important.

What if there are no reviews or testimonials or case studies available? Ask your boss if you can speak to a client.  It will give you so much valuable information and it can then be used to create a case study.  I’ve got testimonials on my website and case studies in my proposals, as well as having people on standby who are happy to speak firsthand to other prospects.

You’ll feel more proactive and happy if you are able to speak to happy customers, as you’ll be able to use what they say in your pitch and it does have an enormous impact.  If you are a manager reading this please do find someone for your team to talk to.  If just gives them that extra oomph to motivate them, much better than a “Let’s go team” meeting like this! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmccHfLpbo4
