A good Telemarketer is like a mole
In espionage jargon, a mole is a long-term spy (espionage agent) who is recruited before having access to secret intelligence, subsequently managing to get into the target organization. However, it is popularly used to mean any long-term clandestine spy or informant within an organization, government or private.
A good Telemarketer should be like your Mole, scrap that, a good telemarketer IS like a mole – both the clever information-gathering sort, and the velvety sort.
We build information about prospects (gathering intelligence) to make sure you have the best chance of success. We often don’t have visibility (can’t see) the way a call is going to go before we pick up the phone, but we use our instincts and drive the way forward with our powerful arms (our conversational powers) until we find the light. And sometimes Telemarketers are seen as pests just like moles. Other people think we’re soft and lovely looking, none moreso than Kenneth Graham with The Wind in the Willows. http://www.online-literature.com/grahame/windwillows/
